Food Giveaway:
The average meal cost is $3.28 in Dekalb County. However, the country has a budget shortfall of $53,247,000, leaving too many families food insecure. To ensure no one in the county is left hungry, Together We Strive provides a monthly food giveaway hosted at Big Miller Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Each event aims to provide food to at least 1,000 families. The Atlanta Food Bank provides food.
COVID Vaccinations:
During the monthly food giveaways, Together We Strive provides free COVID vaccinations and booster shots in partnership with the Morehouse School of Medicine, Emory University Hospital, and Grady Hospital. The first 100 vaccination recipients receive a $100 gift card with their immunization.
